João holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto
Superior Técnico, in the field of Urbanism, Transport and
Systems, a post-graduate degree in Enterprise Data Science &
Analytics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Nova IMS) and is
currently finishing his PhD in Civil Engineering at Instituto
Superior Técnico.
Previously, he worked in the field of investment banking in the
settlement of international assets, and was a Co-Founder of the
artificial intelligence and data analysis company
Alfredo Real Estate Analytics,
serving as Chief Data Officer and Head of Business Development,
working with national banks, insurers and real estate brokerage
companies.
In 2020, he was also responsible for collecting and processing
data for the
Student Housing Observatory
platform developed for the Ministry of Science, Technology and
Higher Education of the XXII Constitutional Government of
Portugal. He is the author of publications in international
journals in the areas of transport economics, real estate, and
housing.
He also conducted scientific studies for the Francisco Manuel
dos Santos Foundation in the area of transport infrastructure in
Portugal, analyzing the evolution of the sector, the adequacy of
existing infrastructure, the impact of public policy decisions
on the efficiency of the transport system, and their impact on
work productivity.
